Job summary

Bosch Group in the UK invites applications for an Intern Motorsport Engineer at the Nuneaton office. This 12-month placement starts July 2027 and targets undergraduates eligible for a university work placement.

You will assist Motorsport Engineers with technical support, system design for engine/chassis, ECU/VCU calibration, and Bosch Motorsport hardware setup. The BUILD Programme blends in-person and online learning.

Qualifications

• Studying Automotive, motorsport or mechanical engineering with 2:1 or higher.
• Must be eligible for a university placement as part of coursework.
• Fluent in English and good presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Motorsport Engineers with technical support and project coordination.
• Support customers with troubleshooting and test activities; potential racetrack support.
• Aid engineers with commercial processes and project acquisition.
• Design systems for Motorsport projects on engine and chassis.
• Configure Bosch Motorsport electronics (display, logging).
• Calibrate ECU/VCU and other Bosch Motorsport hardware.

As an Intern Motorsport Engineer within the team, you will be responsible for:

• Assist current Motorsport Engineers in technical support and project coordination for customers.
• Extra support to the customer with troubleshooting, system start up, test and possibility of racetrack support.
• Aiding the Engineers with commercial processes and the acquisition of new projects.
• System design for Motorsport projects on the engine and chassis sides.
• Configuration of the Bosch Motorsport electronics (display, body computer, logging system).
• Calibration of ECU/VCU and other Bosch Motorsport hardware.

• Studying for an undergraduate or Masters degree and required to take a placement as part of your course.
• Studying Automotive, motorsport or mechanical engineering degree (Achieving 2:1or higher).
• Knowledge of engine hardware, combustion theory and thermodynamics for high-performance engines.
• Knowledge of direct injection and spark topics.
• Knowledge of network communication (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Etc).
• Good presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Assertiveness, ready to work under pressure and good organization.
• Fluent in English.
• Readiness to travel in UK and worldwide, readiness to work on weekends.

This is a 12-month internship beginning inJuly 2027. This position is open to undergraduate students who are eligible to partake in a work placement as part of their university course.

Location: you will be based at the Nuneaton office.
