Qualifications

Job description

Motorrad Central Edinburgh is looking for a Motorrad Technician Apprentice.

Your role

Joining us as an Apprentice Motorrad Vehicle Technician offers you the opportunity to thrive. You’ll develop your career with one of the world's most prestigious brands, working alongside some of the industry’s best talent.

As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you’ll be involved in all aspects of maintenance and repair from routine servicing to complete component overhaul of vehicle systems. Your apprenticeship in conjunction with the BMW Training Academy at Wokefield Park, Reading, this will focus on Light Vehicle and Maintenance and Repair, and the overall programme will last three years. On completion you will have a formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent). You will be partnered with one of our own Technicians who will be your mentor throughout your apprenticeship journey.

You’ll use the very latest hi-tech diagnostic procedures and equipment on the most sophisticated electronic and computer-controlled vehicle systems. You will gain experience in: Wheels, Tyres, Steering, Suspension and Braking Systems. Service Inspection and Maintenance, Pre and Post work activates. Diagnosis and Rectification of Light Vehicle Engine Faults, Chassis etc. Once trained as a technician you will be expected to carry out a wide variety of tasks from routine maintenance to full overhaul.

Your profile

Our ideal candidate: Ideally, you’ll have achieved grades 4-9 in Math’s and English although this is not mandatory.

Working days are Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
