Job description

We’re not just another bike brand - we're an iconic, British motorcycle brand with over 120 years of history behind us. Our new state-of-the-art facilities in Solihull, West Midlands are home to a tight-knit, but ever-expanding team that's passionate about delivering exquisite riding experiences to our customers.

Under new ownership and proud to be part of the TVS Motor family, we're entering a new era of global success. And we want you to be a part of it!

At Norton, we value respect, trust, and responsibility. We trust our employees to execute their roles exceptionally and professionally, and we value personal development, teaching, and learning. When you join our team, you'll have the opportunity to grow and learn alongside some of the most talented and dedicated people in the business.

So if you're passionate about motorcycles and looking to join a team that's shaping the future of this legendary brand, we'd love to hear from you!

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Motorcycle Designer to join our in-house design team. You will be instrumental in shaping the visual and functional identity of Norton’s future products — from complete motorcycles to accessories and the finer details of CTG/CMF (colour, trim, and graphics).

This is a rare opportunity to influence the next generation of premium British motorcycles, where your ideas will take physical form and ride on the world stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and develop original motorcycle designs from concept through to production
  • Design motorcycle accessories and components with a focus on form, function, and brand identity
  • Define and develop CTG/CMF (Colour, Trim, Graphics/Materials & Finishes) strategies that elevate product appeal and align with brand DNA
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, product planning, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure design intent is maintained through production
  • Produce high-quality sketches, CAD models, visual renders, and physical mock-ups
  • Participate in design reviews, ideation workshops, and cross-functional critiques
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, materials innovation, and new mobility concepts

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience in Motorcycle Design, demonstrated through a strong portfolio
  • Strong capability in Motorcycle Accessory Design, including panniers, windscreens, protection systems, and rider ergonomics
  • Demonstrated expertise in Motorcycle CTG/CMF Design, including paint finishes, decals, textures, and tactile elements

Core Requirements

  • A Creative Design degree, preferably BA (Hons) in Transport Design or equivalent
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, Blender, Rhino, or similar)
  • Excellent sketching and visual storytelling ability
  • A deep passion for motorcycles — with a solid understanding of both aesthetic and functional design considerations
  • Strong collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate ideas clearly within multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable

  • Hands-on experience with clay or digital sculpting
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in the motorcycle industry
  • Riding experience or a motorcycle license
