Job summary

BAWCo in Bradford is seeking a skilled motor repair technician to dismantle, fault-find and overhaul a range of electric motors. The role covers stripping, winding copy work on stators/rotors and armatures, followed by final testing and reporting of results.

Applicants should have proven experience with single-phase, three-phase and DC motors, and be comfortable reading wiring diagrams. A commitment to health and safety and teamwork is essential, with overtime possible to meet urgent repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience and proven ability in the repair/rewinding of electric motors.
• Knowledge of single-phase, three-phase, and DC motors.
• Ability to work on low voltage motors up to 500kw.
• Confidence to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• Experience in generator and high voltage repairs is desirable though not essential.
• Ability to work within a team and motivation to progress individually.
• Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations.
• Respect for work colleagues, workplace machinery and customer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Dismantling, fault finding and assessment of various types of electric motors.
• All aspects of electric motor overhaul and repair.
• Stripping, detailing and copy winding of stators and rotors.
• Stripping, detailing and copy winding of armatures and field coils.
• Final testing and reporting of repaired motors.
