Job description

VANRATH are recruiting a Motor Vehicle Tutor to work at a training services organisation in Belfast City Centre.

Have you trained future vehicle technicians before? Maybe you have trained various apprentices over the years and fancy taking your talents to the classroom.

Salary:

Up to £40,000 + 38 days holiday + private health insurance + more benefits

Free accredited training to become a qualified skills tutor (worth £2,000)

This is based on a 38 hour week (other roles in the motor trade are usually 40-45)

Role Duties:

(there is a curriculum in place and training programmes already set)

Training Programme Development & Delivery

  • Design and deliver vocational training with a balance of theory and practical content.

  • Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials and resources.

  • Create and deliver content through various formats including eLearning, videos, and webinars.

  • Deliver training both face-to-face and remotely, in line with national standards and deadlines.

Student Support & Progression

  • Assess student's skills and needs; create and review customised Training Plans.

  • Monitor attendance, work placements, and progress toward qualifications.

  • Promote student progression into employment or further accreditation.

  • Assist with student induction and recruitment activities.

Employer Engagement

  • Liaise with sector representatives to ensure programmes reflect industry needs.

  • Support the business in securing quality placements.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with current and potential employers.

Monitoring, Assessment & Quality Assurance

  • Assess qualifications and key skills to national standards.

  • Maintain accurate student records in line with company policies.

  • Support quality assurance of training and placements.

Health & Safety & Environment

  • Implement and monitor Health & Safety practices and procedures.

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and clean training environment.

  • Report and investigate accidents when necessary.

General Duties

  • Attend meetings and contribute to reports as required.

  • Engage in continuous professional development.

  • Perform additional duties as directed by line management.

The ideal candidate:

  • NVQ Level 3 (minimum) in Light Vehicle Repair
  • A longstanding history of vehicle repair
  • A history of training other staff, ideally in an official training setting, though industry setting is acceptable.
