Job description

Motor Vehicle Technician (HGV)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £35,235 - £38,626 per annum

The Role:

The City Council are seeking an experienced time served Heavy Goods Vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.

The council maintains and repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant and horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4, 5 & 7 vehicles, licenced taxis and hackney carriages.

You will join the team, primarily in their Heavy workshop at Newington Rd.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  2. A category B driving licence is essential. Categories C LGV licence or a valid MOT tester qualification is advantageous.
