Qualifications

Job description

Newcastle City Council (City Transport) is seeking an experienced, time-served Heavy Goods Vehicle technician for a permanent position.

City Transport maintains and repairs a diverse range of heavy & light vehicles, plant, and horticultural equipment. It also has two MOT stations testing class 4, 5 & 7 vehicles, licensed taxis, and hackney carriages.

You should be able to work to deadlines, consistently produce quality work, and maintain safety standards at all times.

Join us as a permanent team member, primarily based in our Heavy workshop at Newington Rd.

Requirements include a recognized apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. A category B driving licence is essential. A C LGV licence or valid MOT tester qualification is advantageous.
