Job summary

A UK automotive company is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for its Wigan site. In this role, you will perform vehicle diagnostics, inspections, and repairs within a high-quality service environment. The position offers a salary ranging from £30k to £35k, with additional opportunities for Senior and Master Technicians. The role includes working hours from Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays. Interested candidates must have relevant qualifications and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Relevant formal qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Current MOT Licence (advantageous).
  • Must have a current clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Road test vehicles and diagnose problems.
  • Carry out inspections, repairs and services.
  • Complete MOT Tests and annual accreditation training.
  • Ensure paperwork is accurate and timely.
  • Maintain high level of productivity.
  • Collaborate with service reception and parts teams.
  • Keep work area and protective clothing clean and safe.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced and talented Vehicle Technician to work with our Aftersales Team at their Wigan site. You will benefit from operating in a franchised environment where standards are high and delivering quality and service to the customer is paramount. As a rapidly expanding business you will benefit from our investment in training, technology and tools, as well as work with a successful and motivated team.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm, with alternate Saturdays 8.30am to 12.30pm (paid as overtime.)

Salary: from £30k to £35k dependant on experience.

Senior and Master Technicians have an increased earning potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To road test vehicles and diagnose problems as and when required.
  • To carry out inspections, repairs and services and check vehicles against manufactures standards.
  • To complete MOT Tests as per regulations and complete annual accreditation training.
  • To ensure paperwork is accurate and up to date
  • To ensure all jobs are completed within agreed timeframes and whilst maintaining a high level of productivity
  • To work closely with the service reception team and parts team to ensure we deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • To keep work area and protective clothing clean, tidy and in a safe condition.
  • Relevant formal qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Current MOT Licence (advantageous)
  • Must have a current clean UK driving licence
