Job summary

An established industry player with over 55 years of experience in the transport sector is seeking dedicated apprentices to join their specialist workshop team. This full-time apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow within the field of heavy vehicle maintenance. Qualifications

  • Completion of a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle maintenance is essential.

  • Perform repairs to company fleet vehicles including HGVs and trailers.
  • Shadow qualified mechanics for servicing and repairs.

Job description

We are a family-run business with over 55 years in the Transport Industry. Our specialist workshop team repairs HGVs, trailers, and other vehicles so that our drivers can transport wide and long loads, military vehicles and equipment, containers and generators, dangerous goods, and all the weird and wonderful! We also work on vehicles for customers and suppliers.

This apprenticeship will be offered on a full-time basis with the opportunity to progress with further training provided.
Future training could include gaining HGV licence or doing the IRTEC qualification.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing major and minor repairs to company fleet vehicles including vans, trucks (HGVs), and trailers
  • Removal and refitting of brakes, hub rebuilding, wheel removal, and refitting in a physically demanding workshop
  • General maintenance
  • Shadowing qualified mechanics in other jobs including general servicing and repairs
  • Servicing and repairing Heavy vehicles
Qualifications:
  • Motor Vehicle and Maintenance Technician (Heavy Vehicle) Level 3
  • City of Bristol College (Parkway)
  • Block Release

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm with 1 hour unpaid breaks – 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes in the afternoon, and 30 minutes for lunch.
