Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle Lecturer for an immediately available 6-12 month contract in Scunthorpe. You will deliver high-quality teaching and practical training to apprentices, assess progress, and provide coaching to learners in a college setting.

The role suits those with lecturing or training experience, aiming to pass on knowledge and support learners towards their qualifications.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is required or equivalent.
• Experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician in the automotive sector is preferred or currently working in the industry.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 DET) and/or assessing qualifications (TAQA, A1/D32/D33) preferred but not essential.
• Experience lecturing, training or assessing apprentices is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance and repair.
• Able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching and practical training in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Assess and support apprentices working towards NVQ and apprenticeship standards.
• Cover topics including vehicle diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Coach, mentor and provide constructive feedback to learners.
• Ensure practical workshop activities are delivered in line with health and safety requirements.

Motor Vehicle Lecturer

£45 - £55 per hour, 6-12-month contract
Location: Scunthorpe

Commutable from Doncaster, Grimsby, Sheffield, Lincoln, York, Leeds and surrounding areas

Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle Lecturer, Trainer or Assessor looking for your next immediately available contract role?

Do you have experience within Further Education, apprenticeships or technical training-or are you a hands‑on Motor Vehicle Technician looking to move into training and pass on your knowledge?

On offer is a long‑term contract within a well‑established college, supporting apprentices and learners working towards their qualifications. You'll deliver high‑quality teaching and practical training, carry out assessments, provide coaching and mentoring, and help learners achieve their full potential.

This role would suit someone with lecturing/training experience who is looking for a stable, rewarding position in an established education setting.

The Role:

• Experience lecturing, training or assessing apprentices (advantageous).
• Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance and repair.
