Job description

Overview

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time Motor Vehicle Lecturer to work at a College in Hull, starting ASAP September 2025 and lasting indefinitely. Ideally this will be a temporary to permanent position, with the successful candidate working on a supply basis for 12 weeks, before transferring onto a permanent contract. There are both full time (35 hours per week) and part time positions available (2 days per week) for this role. Payment for this position will be between 20 and 40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Once this transfers onto a permanent contract, the permanent salary offered would be up to 37,000 per annum (subject to pro rata for 2 days per week).

Located in Hull, this school is easily accessible from almost all parts of Hull via Bus, and has an onsite car park for candidates who drive. There is also a large car park nearby that is low cost and can be reimbursed in wages. This college is the vocational hub for the city and has a great reputation in the local area. The College are looking for a highly experienced industry professional that can guide the next generation of plumbers in Hull and the surrounding area.

Responsibilities

This role will involve teaching Motor Vehicle techniques in the workshop to BTEC Level 2 and 3 students. We are looking for a practitioner that has relevant industry based experience and a qualification to Level 3 or above. The College would happily accept applications from candidates with the relevant level 3 qualification, without teaching experience. The College would happily put people through their teaching qualifications (fully paid for), and there is the potential to work on assessing qualifications while at the college as well.

Qualifications

• Has a level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicles
• Has experience teaching Motor Vehicles (ideal but not necessary)
• Has a Level 3 or above teaching qualification or the willingness to learn
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the full CV History
• Legal right to work in the UK
