A major airport operator in the UK is seeking a Motor Transport Manager at East Midlands Airport. You will be responsible for managing the operational fleet of vehicles, including maintenance and compliance with Health & Safety regulations. Successful candidates will have strong leadership experience, an NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance, and hold a full UK driving licence. The role
As Motor Transport Manager you are responsible for the Operational Fleet of vehicles at East Midlands Airport. This includes everything from snow ploughs through to ambilifts & maintenance vehicles.
With a team of 5, you will be responsible for all maintenance, repairs, testing and servicing of the vehicles. This will include allocating work to the appropriate member of the team, ensuring all Health & Safety regulations are adhered too, and ensuring that any parts are procured in a timely and efficient manner. We are also looking for someone who has a strong understanding of the tech advances in vehicles, and has experience of sustainbility within a fleet.
As you can imagine this is a vital role, at the heart of keeping the airport operational.
What will make you successful in the role?
You will absolutely need experience to be considered for this role - and the more of the skills listed the better. You need to be able to commute to East Midlands Airport on a daily basis, and be able to consider overtime on occassion
NVQ Level 3 in a vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
Experience in a workshop environment.
Experience in leading a team essential.
Current HGV Inspector with Institute of Road Transport Certificate (IRTEC)
Hydraulics Stage 1 with CETOP accreditation.
IOSH Managing Safely (desirable).
Internal Quality Systems Auditing or equivalent.
Full clean UK Driving Licence.
HGV and Fork Lift Truck Licence would be an advantage.
Ability to remain flexible to overtime demands.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
Microsoft Office IT Literacy.
