Job description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable mechanic to join the dedicated team at our busy Adelaide-based workshop.

The long-standing and reputable business offers servicing, diagnosing, repairs, and maintenance for all European models. The successful applicant will work alongside a supportive team of other mechanics.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Servicing, diagnosing, and repairs on all makes and models
  • Dismantling and removing engine parts and assemblies
  • Reassembling engine components after repair
  • Testing mechanical parts for competency and repairing if necessary
  • Inspecting vehicles and testing for roadworthiness
  • Customer service and cleaning duties as required

Essential skills and experience:

  • AQF Cert III including at least 2 years of experience or at least 3 years of relevant experience to substitute formal qualifications
  • Experience in servicing and repairs on all makes and models
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and professional
  • Able to diagnose and repair vehicle faults efficiently utilizing factory and generic diagnostic scanners

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.

Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills:

  • Proficient in speaking and writing English
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Physically fit
  • Well presented
  • Basic computer literacy

Experience:

  • 4-year apprenticeship plus 4 years as a tradesman
  • Vehicle fault finding, including electrical issues
  • Log book servicing to Original Equipment specifications

Salary will be negotiated based on experience.
