Job summary

Work with York Limited is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join their fleet team in the United Kingdom. This temporary to permanent role involves diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a range of vehicles, plant, and equipment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with two shift patterns and overtime opportunities. A minimum rate of £16.86 per hour applies, with the potential for progression based on experience.

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join their fleet team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with both hand tools and power tools. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing and maintaining various types of vehicles, machinery, plant and equipment, to ensure optimal performance and safety.

This role is offered on a temporary basis, for a minimum of 4 months, potentially longer, with the opportunity of going permanent. Working days will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week. Two different shifts patterns.

A minimum pay rate of £16.86 per hour (potentially higher dependent upon experience) and with the opportunity for paid overtime.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, plant and machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake repairs, and tyre rotations.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
