Job Description

We are looking for ambitious, driven candidates to join our dynamic, collaborative division and advance their legal careers. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigated File Handler in our counter-fraud team, the largest in the UK. Our team is approachable and committed to legal excellence, specializing in defeating dishonest motor claims and developing strategies to identify and prevent emerging risks. The NDA File Handler will manage a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud files for various insurance clients, working closely with claims handlers and Lead Lawyers to achieve optimal results. The role demands following defined processes, a forensic approach to evidence, and high commercial awareness. Decision-making within set timeframes aligned with case strategies is crucial.

This role involves strategic foresight to leverage litigation opportunities and shape the future of counter-fraud efforts.

The caseload includes claims such as:

  • Induced accidents
  • Linked & Organised Crime
Key Responsibilities

Manage fraud cases from litigation to resolution, including:

  • Review and analyze evidence throughout cases
  • Set and agree on case strategies with clients, adhering to internal and external guidelines
  • Identify litigation opportunities and complex cases
  • Recognize client trends and opportunities to enhance client engagement
  • Handle files in accordance with client guidelines without delegation
  • Maintain high client satisfaction and accurate MI reporting
  • Meet KPIs and deadlines

Technical and Litigation Responsibilities:

  • Report to insurers throughout cases
  • Coordinate investigations and investigations to meet strategic goals
  • Ensure procedural compliance and timely litigation actions
  • Undertake advocacy when appropriate
  • Delegate tasks effectively
  • Maintain accurate case management records
  • Comply with SRA standards and regulations

Commercial Awareness:

  • Work efficiently to ensure profitability
  • Achieve financial targets and accurate billing

Working Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch. Location: Bolton, Parklands Office, with at least 1 day/week in the office.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in civil litigation or relevant legal qualification (ILEX, LPC)
  • Experience handling linked and organized fraud is desirable
  • Knowledge of insurance litigation, CPR, and case management systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and client care skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
