This is your opportunity to take your Motor Engineering and Management experience into a brand new role.

Because of the growth of the Company, a Manager is needed to lead and develop the team of multi-skilled Motor Engineers. Also you'll have responsibility for the day-to-day operations.

The role is very diverse. It involves team management and development, oversight of team activities, adherence to agreed SLA/KPIs, and resolving issues with various external stakeholders.

You will have the autonomy to shape and develop this role alongside the company's growth and future plans. As Engineering Manager, you will also seek ways to improve and develop the business.

You will support the Engineering Director with internal and external client management, interacting with all stakeholders including sub-contractors.

You may be required to travel and assist other business areas using your technical skills and managing multiple client accounts.

Main responsibilities of the Motor Engineering Manager include:

  • Managing staff and supporting them in completing tasks
  • Acting as the team's technical referral point, providing sound technical knowledge for swift conclusions
  • Recruiting and training new employees
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies
  • Conducting performance reviews
  • Coaching, counseling, and performance management
  • Communicating progress, needs, and updates to Senior Management
  • Problem solving and handling customer/client complaints
  • Completing own engineering tasks, determining the best repair methods for damages in line with manufacturer guidelines on both new and registered vehicles, including authorizing and challenging repair costs and estimating damages via images

To be successful as a Motor Engineering Manager, you should demonstrate:

  • Experience in Motor Engineering team management
  • Knowledge and experience in the Motor Industry Engineering sector
  • IAEA Membership (preferred)
  • ATA VDA and AQP accreditation and commitment to maintaining these
  • Personable and approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Confidence to deal with customers and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong organizational, administrative, numeracy, and literacy skills
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and understand how issues connect
  • Experience in vehicle repair and cost complaint handling
  • Skills in MI reporting and data analysis
