Job description

Are you a defendant motor claims solicitor, newly qualified up to around three years’ PQE, with solid experience across injury, credit hire, and damage claims? Are you looking for a position that offers more than just a standard caseload — something with real progression, genuine responsibility, and the chance to lead from the front far earlier than most roles at this level would allow?

If so, this could be the career-defining move you’ve been waiting for.

QED Legal is working closely with a long-established client — a major player in the insurance sector — who has built a strong and fast-growing presence in the Scottish legal market over the past decade. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them since they first launched here, and they continue to offer something different: a forward-thinking structure, a strong team culture, and opportunities for junior lawyers to step up quickly and meaningfully.

This role is ideal for someone confident in their technical ability, with a real interest in advocacy. You’ll be encouraged to appear in court regularly, particularly at proof, and will be supported in sharpening your advocacy skills as you go. What truly sets this opportunity apart is the leadership element — you’ll be in a position to supervise junior team members and play a key role in the continued growth and success of the department. At this stage in your career, that level of responsibility is rare — and it's something this firm is fully prepared to offer the right person.

In return, you can expect a salary that is above current market rates and a benefits package to match. More importantly, you’ll be stepping into a team where your contribution will be recognised, your career will be actively supported, and your development will be taken seriously from day one.

Whilst their competitors have backed off continuously from hybrid working over the last year or so, this is still in full flow at this firm and will remain so in perpetuity.
