Ayrshire Independent Living Network (AILN) is seeking a Mothers help/Support Worker in Dailly to assist a young mother living with an electric wheelchair. The role includes personal care, light housekeeping, cooking meals, and support with getting out and about when needed.
The role is part-time (10–16 hours per week) with on-site work and occasional evenings. A flexible approach to school hours applies, and PVG checks with two references are required.

A young mother living as a single parent requires support to maintain her independence and care for her young family aged 10 and 9. A support worker who is a driver would be preferred. However, the lady uses an electric wheelchair and can be supported on and off public transport.
The lady lives in a remote location in South Ayrshire. If you use the car for support the lady out and about will provide fuel money at an agreed rate.
The lady requires personal care assistance and support with washing and dressing in the mornings. Experience in stoma support would be advantageous.
Assistance is required to help cook wholesome family meals. Housework including laundry, bed changing and hoovering. The lady can do some things but requires help due to her condition which has deteriorated over time. The lady has two cats and is a smoker. A flexible approach around school hours will be considered with this post and there would be the occasional evening shift that may need covered.
The lady has been unwell for some time and is trying find her way back to being seen as an individual and looks forward to being supported in getting out and about with some support to build her confidence. She enjoys nature, swimming and quiet spaces, she does not like busy places. The odd night away may happen given time, so be aware this could be part of your role.
The hours would be to support in the mornings, getting dressed and ready for the day, some light housework. Teatime cooking and support in getting ready to settle for the evening. The hours may change dependent on the school holidays, but an advanced rota would be discussed and given a couple of weeks in advance. The lady uses an electric wheelchair so moving and handling experience would be advantageous; training can be given.
As part of this role you are required to be undergo a PVG and present two references one being from your last employer.
There will be a 6month probationary period and contract of employment will be given. Holiday leave is 5.6 weeks per annum depending on the hours worked.
