Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Glasgow is seeking an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic to join our professional workshop. The role covers MOT tests, vehicle health checks, servicing and repairs, with a focus on high workmanship and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent experience.
• A valid MOT Tester licence.
• Previous experience as an MOT Tester, Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic.
• Experience working in a dealership & independent garage.
• A full and valid UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
• A self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A willingness to develop your technical skills and undertake further training.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA requirements.
• Completing vehicle health checks using the latest technology.
• Conducting pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
• Carrying out servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspecting vehicle lights, tyres and mechanical and electrical components.
• Identifying additional work and reporting recommendations.
• Completing minor repairs and fitting accessories where required.
• Conducting road tests to ensure repairs have been completed successfully.
• Maintaining accurate job cards and completing all relevant paperwork.
