Job summary

Webrecruit is seeking a flexible, customer‑facing MOT Tester to join its centre team. You will perform MOT tests on light vehicles in line with DVSA standards, input results into the DVSA system, and advise on essential vehicle services.

The role suits someone with proven experience in busy automotive retail and a collaborative team mindset. The ideal candidate will hold a valid DVSA MOT Tester licence, be able to manage a varied workload, and take pride in high standards of work.

Qualifications

• Valid MOT Tester licence issued by the DVSA.
• Experience in a busy retail automotive environment.
• Ability to manage own workload and work within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and input details on the DVSA computer system.
• Fit products to customer vehicles and carry out ancillary services.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment.
• Increase sales of products and services offered by the Company.
• Adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures.
• Comply with reasonable instructions from Management.
• Uniform is supplied and must be clean and presentable at all times.
• Be available for work at the times specified by the Company.
• There are training opportunities to further your career within the Company.
• The role reports directly to the Centre Manager.

Hours

The Company's normal opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturday 8.30am hours to 5.00pm hours and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Working hours to be discussed at interview

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to tasks and be able to manage their own workload, be an excellent communicator with proven experience of working in a busy retail environment in an automotive setting.

The main objective of the role will be to MOT test light vehicles as set out by DVSA in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team, but should be equally happy working on their own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.

Job Responsibilities

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence which is issued by the DVSA
• To carry out MOT test to DVSA standard and input the details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
• To maintain the cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment on an ongoing basis
• To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures
• To adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures
• To comply with reasonable instructions from Management
• The company will supply you with uniform, it must be clean and presentable at all times
• To be available for work at the times specified by the Company
