Job summary

MotorSorted is opening a brand-new garage in Burton upon Trent and is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join the workshop team. You will test Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles to DVSA standards, identify defects, and keep records accurate. You may assist with servicing and general mechanical repairs when needed.

This is a hands-on, permanent role with long-term stability and development opportunities. You’ll ensure every vehicle tested is recorded properly and tested correctly, whether working

Qualifications

• Holds a valid MOT Testing Licence.
• Experience as MOT Tester in a garage, dealership or workshop.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• High level of attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards.
• Testing Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles.
• Identifying and reporting vehicle defects.

MotorSorted is opening a brand-new garage in Burton upon Trent, and we're looking for an experienced MOT Tester to join the workshop team.

You'll be testing Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles to DVSA standards, finding and reporting defects, and keeping every record accurate. Where it's needed, you'll pick up servicing and general mechanical repairs too.

It's a hands‑on, permanent role with long‑term stability and room to develop. If you take pride in getting every test right, this could be a good place to do that from day one.

You’ll be the one making sure every vehicle that goes through the bay is tested properly and recorded accurately.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a valid MOT Testing Licence
• Has previous experience as an MOT Tester in a garage, dealership or workshop
• Has strong mechanical knowledge and fault‑finding skills
• Has a high level of attention to detail
• Is reliable and conscientious
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Class 4, 5 and 7 testing authorisation would be ideal, but it's not essential for the right person.
