Job summary

Swansway Motor Group is seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our team of automotive professionals. Based at one of our well-regarded dealerships, you will perform MOT testing and vehicle inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability.

Your role will involve collaborating with workshop staff and documenting all work in detail to uphold our high standards. The ideal candidate has a Level 3 qualification in vehicle service and repair, a valid MOT licence, and at least three years’

Qualifications

• L3 qualification in vehicle service and repair.
• Valid MOT licence.
• At least three years of experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full driving licence for road tests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing service repair and pre-delivery inspection checks of vehicles in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Workshop Controller and Service Advisor team to communicate additional work or escalation needs.
• Use our 'see it now' service to record and convey necessary work on customer vehicles.
• Perform diagnostic checks and road tests to verify vehicle quality and safety post-service.
• Complete precise and thorough service documentation including job sheets, PDIs, and DISS reports.

Our ideal MOT Tester is a driven team player with a keen attention to detail. You will possess:

• A L3 qualification in vehicle service and repair, accompanied by a valid MOT licence.
• At least three years of experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• A remarkable ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
• A genuine 'can-do' attitude and the motivation to excel.
• A valid driving licence, enabling you to carry out vehicle road tests safely.
