We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires the ability to perform heavy lifting and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct MOT tests on various vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards
  • Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, and emissions systems
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, providing accurate reports on findings
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Keep up-to-date with current legislation and best practices related to vehicle testing
Requirements
  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not essential for the right candidate willing to undergo training
