Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician in Aberystwyth. The role offers a competitive salary with a bonus potential and clear career progression within a national group.

The successful candidate will conduct MOT tests per DVSA regulations, perform repairs (brakes, cambelts, clutches, exhausts, tyres) and use alignment equipment. A full UK driving licence is required.

• Knowledge of tyres, brakes, cambelts, clutches and exhausts.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations.
• Carry out mechanical repairs including brakes, cambelts, clutches, exhausts and tyres.
• Use alignment machines and interpret readings accurately.
• Perform vehicle inspections and complete inspection sheets.
• Identify further faults to customers and management.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop in line with health and safety.

• Conduct MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations, ensuring all testing requirements are met
• Carry out mechanical repairs including brakes, clutches, cambelts, exhausts, and tyre fitting
• Use alignment machines and accurately interpret readings to make necessary adjustments
• Perform vehicle inspections and complete detailed inspection sheets following company procedures
• Identify and communicate additional faults to customers and management
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Requirements needed from the MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician:
• Proven experience working in a professional workshop environment
• Knowledge of tyre fitting, brakes, cambelts, clutches, and exhaust systems
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Self-motivated with a focus on quality and attention to detail
