Mortgage Underwriter
Hybrid, East Anglia
Circa £34K salary + benefits


Introduction:
We are delighted to be partnering with our specialist mortgage lender client based in East Anglia. They are recruiting for a new role in their team, a Mortgage Underwriter with experience of manual underwriting. The main purpose of this Mortgage Underwriter role is to process and underwrite new mortgage, agreements in principle and additional borrowing applications within agreed timescales and service standards, ensuring compliance with both regulatory requirements and the lending policy.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Providing a first-class service to customers by producing high standards of work and ensuring that all service standards are achieved.
  2. Ensuring all mortgage applications and additional borrowing applications are underwritten and processed in accordance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  3. Applying the use of credit risk management tools and techniques, appropriately and consistently to mortgage application processing.
  4. Developing excellent relationships with internal and external customers; to include Mortgage Intermediaries, Business Development Managers, Valuers and Mortgage Indemnity Insurers.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  2. Experience of manual underwriting in a mortgage lending environment.
