Job summary

Greenshaw Learning Trust is recruiting a Morning Minibus Driver for Henley Bank High School in Gloucestershire. You will drive the school vehicle, ensure pupil safety, and complete vehicle checks and maintenance, while adhering to safeguarding and confidentiality standards.

The role requires a current D1 unrestricted/PSV licence (D1 restricted considered) and strong interpersonal skills. Training and development opportunities are offered within a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Current, clean driving licence D1 unrestricted or PSV; D1 restricted considered.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal sensitively with related issues.
• Excellent timekeeping, spatial awareness, defensive driving and calm under pressure.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and respond to unplanned situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding policy.
• Be dependable and follow management directions.

Responsibilities

• Driving the school vehicle.
• Ensuring the safety, comfort and welfare of the children.
• Carry out driver’s daily and weekly checks and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents immediately.
• Keep vehicles clean inside and out and ensure roadworthy condition before/after use.
• Refuel vehicles as required.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.
• Promote a positive school image; keep uniforms clean and tidy.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and other issued directions.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Headteacher.
• Plan alternative routes to/from school and inform the school of changes.
• Handle difficult situations with safeguarding of pupils and data protection confidentiality.
• Attend MiDAS training and other identified courses.
