Job summary

The Newt in Somerset is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver for morning shifts to cover wholesale and home deliveries across Somerset. You’ll be the on-the-road ambassador, ensuring orders arrive on time, in perfect condition, and with warm, memorable service.

You’ll work 20 hours spread over 5 days, including every weekend, from 5am to 9am, and you’ll need a full, clean UK driving licence (category B). The role offers a welcoming team and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence (category B – up to 3,500kg).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Confident, clear verbal communicator.
• Able to lift up to 16kg per item.
• Smart, presentable and personable.

Responsibilities

• Provide wholesale and home deliveries across Somerset.
• Hand deliveries directly to customers or place in safe, secure locations.
• Check orders and final packing before departure.
• Load and secure goods to protect product quality in transit.
• Complete daily van safety checks.
• Perform food-temperature checks at loading and throughout the day.
• Follow route plans via app, capturing proof of delivery.
• Support the warehouse team on quieter days.
