Job summary

The Newt in Somerset is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our Transport team. You will be the on-the-road ambassador, delivering wholesale and home orders across Somerset, ensuring orders arrive on time and in perfect condition.

You will load, check, and secure goods, follow route plans, perform daily van checks, and provide warm, memorable service at the door. A full UK driving licence and excellent customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence (category B).
• Excellent customer service and clear communication.
• Able to lift up to 16 kg per item.

Responsibilities

• Provide wholesale and home deliveries across Somerset.
• Hand deliveries directly to customers or place in safe, secure locations.
• Check orders and final packing before departure.
• Load and secure goods to protect product quality in transit.
• Complete daily van safety checks.
• Perform food-temperature checks at loading and throughout the day.
• Follow route plans via app, capturing proof of delivery.
• Support the warehouse team on quieter days.
