Job summary

Gael Force Marine Equipment in Inverness is seeking a warehouse operative to assemble and despatch moorings systems for the Aquaculture, Leisure and Commercial marine sectors. You will follow strict procedures to ensure high quality and accurate stock handling.

The role is 39 hours per week with an hourly rate of £12.71–£13.50, dependent on experience. Training for rope splicing and stock procedures is provided, with benefits including generous annual leave and staff discounts.

Responsibilities

  • Completing incoming Quality assurance checks to ensure highest quality.
  • Read and understand all special instructions provided prior to starting a job and seek clarity with the Moorings Manager as required.
  • To pick, measure cut and splice ropes accurately to construct moorings components (splicing training will be given)
  • To accurately pick hardware, chain, shackles, thimbles etc whilst maintaining correct stock rotation.
  • To load any despatches using plant accurately and safely as permitted.
  • Assisting in the accuracy of stock and carrying out stock checks when required.
  • Assisting in other departments when required to ensure smooth overall operations
  • Maintaining a tidy organised environment at all times.

Role Highlights:

Required

Desirable (not essential as training will be given)
  • Counterbalance and/or Telescopic forklift certificate
  • Abrasive wheel certificate
  • Cutting torch experience
  • Working in a warehouse environment
  • Rope splicing experience
  • Manual handling training
