The setting accommodates 40 children. The role involves the overall operation of the nursery, so previous experience is essential. Montessori experience and qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory. The nursery can also offer training to obtain Montessori qualifications.

Responsibilities include:

1. Staff supervision
2. Updating policies and procedures
3. Managing occupancy and conducting visits
4. Arranging building maintenance
5. Purchasing resources
6. Running inset days
7. Staff development and training
8. Managing rotas and recording staff hours
9. Recording staff absences
10. Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
11. Strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation, and development of the nursery
12. Staff recruitment
