SOCOTEC UK & Ireland's Infrastructure team is looking for a motivated technician to join the Doncaster office, supporting ground investigation and geotechnical services across the UK. You will monitor sites, enter data, and assist logging engineers on diverse projects from highways to rail.

This role requires fit, a willingness to travel to multiple sites, and a proactive approach to health and safety. SOCOTEC offers 25 days holiday, an electric car scheme where applicable, pension and employee

• Awareness and ability to implement Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Computer literate and competent in use of MS Office to create spreadsheets and documents for effective reporting, communication and record keeping.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsabilidades

• Effectively support the business by undertaking site monitoring and office based data entry as instructed by the GI Project Manager.
• Assist with planning the monitoring programme to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and in line with the specification requirements.
• Be able to work independently to complete monitoring work as required.
• Have a minimum level of fitness required to undertake all site based tasks listed above on a variety of sites including active construction sites, sites with difficult access and linear projects for roads and railways.
• Groundwater and gas monitoring of standpipes and piezometers on site. This may involve monitoring several small sites in a day or monitoring a linear GI project where walking considerable distances with equipment between monitoring locations may be required.
• Water sampling from standpipes at sites of similar environments as listed above.
• Monitoring of specialist instrumentation such as VWPs, inclinometers, extensometers, data loggers.
• Accurate recording of data and validation / checking of results.
• Data entry of results into Holebase SI.
• Deploy good housekeeping when working on contaminated sites
• Acting as technician on large sites, preparing core boxes for photographs, taking and preparing core sub samples and assisting the logging engineers.
• Occasional delivery / collection of consumables, samples and equipment to and from site
• Ensuring maintenance and appearance of delivery vehicle is kept to a high standard.

Job Description

Reporting to a Contracts Co-ordinator, the successful applicant will be based at the Doncaster office location and will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic team of staff delivering ground investigation and geotechnical services to our wide ranging client base across the UK.

Full and clean UK Driving Licence.
