Job summary

MISTRAS Group in Cambridge is seeking a Monitoring Systems Technician to support SHM and remote monitoring across infrastructure, industrial and energy projects. The role involves hands-on installation, commissioning and maintenance of advanced sensing systems in the UK and abroad.

You will work with experienced engineers, gaining practical skills and a clear progression path in a growing field. This permanent, full-time position offers structured training and exposure to diverse projects.

Qualifications

• A strong interest in engineering and electronics, as week as hands-on technical work.
• Background in engineering, electronics.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers with the installation, commissions and maintenance of monitoring systems on client sites.
• Assisting the installation of sensors, cabling, data acquisition elements, communication systems and protective enclosures.
• Preparing equipment, tools and material ready for on-site projects.
• Support in system testing and basic fault-finding activities during installation and commissioning.
• Follow procedures to ensure consistent project delivery.
• Travel to project locations throughout the UK and internationally as required.
• Support site-based installation and commissioning activities, typically involving planned periods of less than two weeks away from home.
