Job summary

SOCOTEC UK Ltd. is seeking a Monitoring Surveyor to deliver site-based engineering surveys and monitoring activities across major infrastructure projects.

You will perform precise movement surveys, traverse and level control, and deliver survey plans with AutoCAD, collaborating with clients to ensure on-time, compliant project delivery. Qualified candidates bring Leica instrumentation experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, and a driving licence.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Surveying, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with Leica surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS receivers, precise levels).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrable experience in engineering surveying or monitoring surveys.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and prioritisation in a fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience using MicroSurvey StarNet and N4CE Survey Software.
• Knowledge of geotechnical and structural instrumentation.
• Experience in construction, tunnelling or rail environments.
• CSCS, PTS and Sentinel ICI-LU accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Organising and delivering site-based engineering surveys and manual monitoring activities.
• Carrying out precise movement monitoring surveys.
• Undertaking precise traversing and levelling for survey control.
• Completing railway track surveys.
• Producing survey plans and section drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Conducting as-built surveys.
• Preparing reports using Microsoft Word and Excel templates.
• Liaising with clients and colleagues to provide project updates and ensure successful project delivery.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance on site.
