Monitoring Centre Operator

£16.00 LTD / £13.73 PAYE (inc hol)
Join a vital frontline service helping to keep Ashford’s communities safe through proactive CCTV surveillance and emergency support.

THE ROLE
Working as part of a 24/7 Monitoring Centre team, you will help deliver a fast-paced and responsive service safeguarding the public, liaising with emergency services, and handling the council’s out-of-hours services.
  • Operate the council’s CCTV system in accordance with procedures and legislation
  • Liaise with emergency services and respond to police radio as required
  • Act as a first point of contact for public safety and out-of-hours enquiries
  • Record and manage data accurately, including evidence and incident reporting
  • Respond to incidents involving vulnerable individuals with care and empathy
  • Monitor radio networks and relay urgent communications
  • Contribute to the wider work of the team, including training, administration, and shift coverage

THE CANDIDATE
We’re looking for candidates with previous experience in a control room, CCTV monitoring or emergency services environment, with a calm and methodical approach to safety and public protection.
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals or in safeguarding scenarios
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and undertake SIA CCTV training if not already licensed

THE CONTRACT
  • 12 Hour Shifts, Days: 08:00–18:00, Nights: 18:00–08:00
  • 3 Month Contract, Temp to Perm opportunity
  • The pay for the role is £16.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £13.73 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
