MongoDB DBA

Location: London or Swindon office (Hybrid: 2 days on-site, 3 days remote)

Join Nationwide's Integration Platform team, central to our tech strategy and Kubernetes platform development. As a MongoDB Database Administrator, you will design, build, and maintain MongoDB databases, supporting both non-production and production environments. We value continuous learning and collaboration, encouraging skill development and community engagement.

We offer flexible hybrid working arrangements, requiring at least two days weekly at our London, Swindon, Northampton, or Bournemouth offices, with occasional visits to London or Swindon once a month for teams outside these locations.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining MongoDB databases and infrastructure
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
• Supporting database backups, deployments, and performance tuning
• Collaborating within project teams to deliver robust solutions

Requirements:

• Proven experience in MongoDB design, build, and support
• Knowledge of Linux OS concepts
• Experience with MongoDB OpsManager, architecture, replication, and sharding
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize MongoDB performance
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement

Preferred skills include experience with Infrastructure as Code, LDAP, Red Hat OpenShift, Kafka, security concepts, agile methodologies, and regulatory environments.
