ROLE OVERVIEW

A Tech Bio company at merging AI and Biology in the London area is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Molecular Biologist to join their growing research and development team. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting molecular biology workflows, with a core focus on cloning strategies and construct generation. As the Molecular Biologist, you will have the chance to contribute to ground breaking research and collaborate with a dynamic team of experts.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Molecular Biologist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Design and perform molecular cloning experiments using a range of techniques including restriction enzyme digestion, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate, and site-directed mutagenesis.

2. Maintain and manage plasmid constructs and bacterial stocks.

3. Validate cloned constructs through PCR, restriction analysis, and Sanger sequencing.

4. Contribute to the development and optimisation of molecular workflows, including NGS library preparation (if applicable).

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Molecular Biologist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics or a related life sciences discipline.

2. Proven industry experience in molecular cloning.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with common molecular biology tools such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA purification.
