Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher

Location:West Bromwich

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: MPS/UPS – Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Modern Foreign Languages Teacherto join a thriving secondary school in West Bromwich. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled linguist to inspire students in their language learning and contribute to a forward-thinking MFL department.

The successful candidate will teach one or more languages (such as French, Spanish or German) across KS3 and KS4.

Role Responsibilites:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in one or more modern foreign languages.

  • Inspire students to develop a love for language learning and an understanding of other cultures.

  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school and national curriculum.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.

  • Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and departmental resources.

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and academic performance in all lessons.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Role Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.

  • A degree in French, Spanish, German or a related field.

  • Experience teaching MFL at secondary level (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable).

  • Excellent subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of the MFL curriculum.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching languages.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
