What you’ll be doing as a Modelling & Insights Specialist

As a Modelling & Insights Specialist, you’ll play a key role in our data-driven approach to understanding and reducing customer demand and water loss. Working alongside our Senior Modelling & Insights Lead, you’ll manage and enhance models that assess customer water use and leakage. • Maintain and refine data models to assess water usage and leakage.
  • Work with teams across the business to ensure accurate data and understanding.
  • Present models and findings clearly to internal teams and external auditors.
  • Automate data processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Support projects to enhance leakage detection and repair processes.

Location: Clearwater Court, Reading – Hybrid 2/3 days in office per week.

Working pattern: Full-time, Monday–Friday. (36 hours per week)

What you should bring to the role

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, analytical, and passionate about water management. You’ll love working with data, uncovering insights, and making an impact.

Essential skills:
  • Strong mathematical modelling abilities.
  • Good statistical knowledge.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • A keen eye for data investigation and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A degree or relevant professional qualification. (or equivalent experience)
  • A passion for the environment, water efficiency, and problem-solving.

Desirable skills:
  • Experience with leakage and water balance calculations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting and audit processes.
  • Understanding of Netbase and NetAlytics.

What’s in it for you?

This role offers the chance to make a real impact—reducing water loss, protecting the environment, and ensuring a sustainable future. You’ll also benefit from:
  • Competitive salary up to £50,000 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
  • Generous Pension Scheme through AON.
  • Access to lots of benefits to help you take care of you and your family’s health and wellbeing, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling, to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance.
