Job Function: Business Change and Project Management
National Grid Interconnectors is at the heart of UK’s transition to our net zero energy future. We operate a number of HVDC Interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system to some of our closest neighbours, allowing energy to be imported to and exported from the UK.
As well as already owning a portfolio of HVDC Interconnectors, we’re working on developing new projects to ensure that we are able to meet the UK’s future demands for greener energy solutions.
We are currently recruiting for a Modelling and Data Platform Manager within the Optimisation team within UJV Operations at National Grid.
The Optimisation team is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the UJV interconnector portfolio. This involves determining the best method to sell capacity (i.e. the right to flow electricity) on the interconnectors, balancing the need to reduce business risk through hedging while also meeting budget revenue targets.
The Modelling and Development team owns and runs a suite of modelling and forecasting tools to support our commercial decision making and optimise our revenue. These include machine learning tools to forecast the clearing prices of our capacity auctions and simulations of power price forward curves.
As a Modelling and Data Platform Manager you will be responsible for leading a high performing team, providing ongoing coaching and development. In addition, the holder will guide a product team sitting within NGV Digital on the development of the interconnectors data platform
You will also be acting as the business owner of the ICDP (Interconnectors Data Platform), ensuring the work done by the product team is aligned to the needs and priorities of the interconnectors business.
If you have previous experience in data engineering and can bring your skills and expertise to this role we would love to hear from you!
This role is based from Warwick and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.
A competitive salary between £62,000 - £75,000 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
