The Model Success team at Moody’s exists to ensure that our clients get great value from their investments in the Moody’s RMS catastrophe models and data.

  • We ensure that our clients make knowledgeable, effective, and efficient use of our constantly evolving suite of world-leading catastrophe models, from hurricanes to cyber-attacks to climate change.
  • We are a global team of outstanding people who enjoy succeeding through our differences in skills and background, while taking pride in what we all share: a passion for helping customers, technical/scientific aptitude, and a great work ethic focused on action and impact.

The role:

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the success of varied and interesting customer requests related to the full range of Moody’s RMS models and products. Tasks include quick problem solving, delivering training, and conducting detailed analysis/interpretation. Act as the first point of contact for incoming requests, communicating directly with customers. Collaborate closely with experienced colleagues to deepen your technical understanding and improve customer outcomes. Ensure customers receive accurate, complete, and appropriate information.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Continuously improve your skills and knowledge of catastrophe models and products, from their scientific foundations to maximizing their input/output.
  • Work closely with a diverse range of customers and colleagues across the globe and in person.
  • Leverage your experience with customer interactions to enhance our online self-serve materials.

As you develop within the role and progress in your career, you'll have opportunities to:

  • Handle more complex client requests, which may involve working directly with Subject Matter Experts, managing sensitive communications, or leading training sessions with minimal prep.
  • Guide junior team members and contribute to their development.
  • Drive team projects involving multiple contributors.
  • Participate in training and mentoring new talent, including graduates.

The qualities you need to succeed:

Our team members excel in teamwork, technical skills, and dedication to clients. You should:

  • Be motivated by helping others succeed.
  • Enjoy solving complex problems.
  • Be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Can simplify complex technical or scientific concepts for varied audiences.
  • Be outcome-oriented, able to prioritize, identify challenges, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Have a strong desire to learn and quickly grasp new concepts.
  • Be a team player, collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Possess technical knowledge in catastrophe modelling and related applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Earth or Climate Sciences, Risk Management, or related fields.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed (infrequently).
