About

Business Unit: Group Risk, Independent Model Validation

Salary range: up to circa £48,000 per annum DOE + benefits

Location: UK Flexible/Remote

Contract type: Permanent

Our Team

We have an exciting opportunity in our Independent Model Validation team, which oversees credit risk, financial, and operational models, including emerging technologies like Machine Learning and Generative AI. We provide independent validations and reviews to ensure robust model development and oversight.

Responsibilities
  1. Supporting validation of traditional and machine learning models.
  2. Providing expertise in artificial intelligence and mathematics to facilitate discussions between Model Development and Model Risk Management.
  3. Engaging with model owners, analyzing materials, challenging performance, and documenting findings.
  4. Using technical skills in data manipulation to assess and compare data sources.
  5. Generating validation reports and ensuring follow-up actions.
  6. Promoting best practices in modelling within the bank.
Minimum Requirements
  • Higher qualification in mathematics or computer science (MSc or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI modeling, including Generative AI.
  • Experience in model development or validation, e.g., Fraud or Financial Crime models.
  • Advanced Python skills.
  • Knowledge of data science and data mining methodologies.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • High accuracy and decision-making skills.
