We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team as a Model Risk Analyst.

The role of Model Risk Analyst within the Model Management Team is part of the wider Retail Credit Risk Analytics function for the UK Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Risk Organization. The role reports to the Head of Model Management and supports model risk management of models used for lending decisions and regulatory reporting (Basel). The Model Management team includes analysts based in the UK and the Global Analytics Centre in India.

The responsibilities include:

1. Producing model monitoring reports and realignments, completing regular first-line assessments, supporting second-line assessments, and data quality reporting.
2. Creating governance forum documents, supporting model risk owners with controls and issues management, engaging with internal and external audit teams, and assessing compliance with regulations.

In this role, you will:

1. Take ownership of and independently lead deliverables for model risk management, including the production and review of model monitoring, realignments, and assessments for UK WPB Decision and Basel Models.
2. Communicate model performance results and risk status to stakeholders, escalating issues and proposing solutions.
3. Contribute to project planning, liaising with team members and stakeholders regularly.
4. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including adopting new technologies and innovative solutions to enhance reporting and processes.

To succeed, you should have:

1. Knowledge of retail products such as Credit Cards, Mortgages, Loans, and Overdrafts.
2. Understanding of how statistical models and data-driven business rules are applied in credit portfolios.
3. Experience in credit/risk/analytics and modeling/model management roles.
4. Proficiency with software such as SAS, SQL, Microsoft Office, Python, and Qliksense.
5. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, Chester, Leeds, or Sheffield.
