Key Purpose of the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who must have a proven track record managing a team of creatives and model makers, and is looking to take our rapidly expanding business to the next level. The Model Making Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of model making projects within the organization. Their primary purpose is to ensure the successful execution of model making initiatives, from conception to completion, meeting quality standards, deadlines, and budgetary constraints. The Project Manager serves as the central point of contact for stakeholders, effectively communicating project requirements, progress, and any potential issues or risks. They leverage their expertise in project management methodologies and model making techniques to drive efficiency, innovation, and excellence across all projects. Additionally, the Project Manager fosters collaboration among team members, providing guidance, support, and resources to optimize project outcomes. Ultimately, they are responsible for delivering high-quality, impactful models that meet or exceed client expectations, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the organization in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of creatives and model makers.
  2. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  3. Communicate clearly with clients and internal stakeholders.
  4. Allocate resources efficiently, managing time and costs.
  5. Ensure capable budget management and effective resource allocation.
  6. Ensure models meet quality standards and client expectations.
  7. Drive innovation and process improvements.

Educational Qualification:

  1. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Model Making, Industrial Design, Product Design, Fine Arts, Sculpture, Architecture, or a related discipline which provides a solid foundation for a career in model making within the creative theming industry.

Additional Qualifications / certifications:

  1. Ability to use 3D and 2D CAD software, in particular Rhino. Understanding of different file formats and how to work with them.
  2. Specialized Training or Certification: While not always required, specialized training or certification in model making techniques, materials, and technologies can be highly beneficial. This might include courses in 3D modeling, prototyping, mold making, casting, sculpting, and painting.

Prior experience:

  1. 5-8 years of experience in model making, including scale models, prototypes, and installations.
  2. Prior knowledge of 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, moulding and casting.
  3. Strong background in model making, fine arts, sculpture, or related disciplines.
