Role Title: MBSE Architect and Deployment Lead

Location: Derby

Reporting to: Program Manager

The Project

Our customer is a multi-national defence organisation currently digitalising and transforming engineering processes across their product life cycle. This includes extending into Digital Twin technology, requiring enabling technologies and processes from requirements to retirement.

The project aims to evaluate current processes, develop digital solutions, and support deployment into projects.

Role Overview

As an MBSE Architect, you will develop and implement Model-Based Systems Engineering strategies for complex systems, requiring a deep understanding of multi-domain product development and Systems Engineering.

Experience at the MBSE Architect level, defining strategies, and organization-wide deployment is mandatory. Clear documentation skills are essential.

Preferred candidates will be certified by INCOSE and experienced in defining MBSE strategies across domains (software, mechanical, electronics). Aligning MBSE architecture with enterprise goals and coordinating with architecture teams is crucial.

Your ability to communicate complex concepts simply, organize effectively, and mentor on MBSE will be key to driving transformation.

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• Experience in defining architecture and deploying MBSE enterprise-wide, familiar with multiple tools and languages
• Knowledge of architecture modeling notations
• Experience in engineering domains such as mechanical, electronics, or software in aerospace, automotive, or defence
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts
• Leadership skills to guide discussions and drive MBSE initiatives

Desired Skills:

• Experience across full product lifecycle from requirements to retirement
• Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with agile methodologies in digital transformation projects
