Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to provide technical support to our clients Project Engineering Office in Yeovil. The role focuses on capturing, defining, managing and tracing engineering requirements using MBSE throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will work with project teams to ensure customer, stakeholder and technical requirements are clearly captured and translated into verifiable engineering requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a systems engineering or requirements engineering environment.
• Proven ability to capture, analyse and trace requirements.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes.
• Experience applying structured requirements management techniques.
• Good understanding of verification and validation of requirements.
• Ability to communicate technical information across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Engineering Office with the capture, analysis, decomposition and management of system and engineering requirements.
• Establish and maintain requirements within the appropriate requirements management and systems engineering environment.
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to support system definition, architecture development and requirements traceability.
• Develop and maintain system models using CAMEO Systems Modeler or equivalent MBSE tools.
• Support the creation of system architectures, functional models, operational scenarios, interfaces and system relationships.
• Ensure clear traceability between stakeholder needs, system requirements, architecture, lower-level requirements and verification activities.
• Assist engineers and project teams in identifying requirements gaps, inconsistencies, duplication and ambiguity.

Model Based Systems Engineer

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £70 ph Ltd

Outside IR35

Location: Yeovil, on site 4 days per week

Role Overview

We are seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer to provide technical support to our clients Project Engineering Office. The role will focus on the capture, definition, management and traceability of engineering requirements, applying established Systems Engineering and MBSE principles throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will work closely with project engineering teams to ensure that customer, stakeholder and technical requirements are effectively captured, structured and translated into clear, verifiable engineering requirements. The role will also support the development and maintenance of system models, helping to establish a consistent and traceable representation of system architecture, behaviour, interfaces and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle processes.

• Good understanding of requirements verification and validation.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical information effectively.

Desirable

• Practical experience of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Experience using CAMEO Systems Modeler / CATIA Magic.
• Knowledge of SysML and system modelling techniques.
• Experience developing system architectures, functional models and interface definitions.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama or equivalent.
• Knowledge of requirements traceability and verification/validation processes.
• Experience working within a regulated, safety-critical or high-integrity engineering environment.
• Familiarity with configuration management and formal engineering change processes.
• Experience working within aerospace, defence, automotive, rail or other complex systems engineering environments.
