Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to deliver expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostics directly to customers at driveways, car parks, and other sites across the Warrington cluster, including Widnes. You’ll operate with your own RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and diagnostic kit from day one, enabling first-class service away from a traditional garage.

The role is a full-time, 40-hour week with options for overtime, flexible shifts, and ongoing career progression within a trusted 125+ year-old UK

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to customers on-site.
• Manage stock and complete job reporting.
• Engage with customers and advise on vehicle care.
• Work within pre-booked appointment routes to stay organized.

• A competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000
• A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
• 40 hours per week, with core hours from8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton‑le‑Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton‑in‑Makerfield. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

What you’ll need

Either:
