Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic in the Warrington cluster to deliver vehicle maintenance and diagnostic services directly to customers at driveways or car parks. You’ll work a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat) with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm, equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit from day one.

Earnings start at £40,170 base with on-target earnings up to £52,000; overtime options available and guaranteed overtime can push base pay to £44,385.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience: 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks.
• Manage stock and reporting.
• Maintain clear customer communication on driveways and in car parks.

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton‑le‑Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton‑in‑Makerfield. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

What you’ll need

Either:

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
