Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division to deliver expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostics directly to customers at driveways and car parks, anywhere they’re based. You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform and diagnostic kit from day one to support every call.

This full-time role is 40 hours a week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, offering a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience required in vehicle maintenance / servicing.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnostics, repairs and checks across customer sites.
• Manage stock and complete reporting.
• Maintain high levels of customer communication and satisfaction.
• Represent RAC professionally on every driveway or site visit.

• A competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000
• A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
• 40 hours per week, with core hours from8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first-class service without the constraints of a traditional garage. We’ll equip you for success from day one - with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton-le-Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton-in-Makerfield. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre-booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

What you’ll need

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
