RAC Mobile Mechanics bring their technical expertise directly to our customers' doors, performing car services, repairs, and diagnostics at customers' homes or workplaces. We have a fantastic opportunity for skilled, field-based vehicle technicians to join our growing team. We provide the van, tools, and bookings—your role is to bring your personality, customer service skills, and experience. You'll have the full support of a network of other mobile mechanics, roadside technicians, in-house experts, and RAC professionals. What you'll get with the RAC
  • Market-leading base salary of GBP43,625 (including GBP5,000 London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with potential to increase to GBP52,000 through bonuses and overtime

  • A friendly face. You'll interact with customers at every appointment—answering questions, giving advice, and representing the RAC.
  • Love variety. You'll perform services, diagnostics, repairs, and checks on customers' driveways. The role also involves stock management, reporting, and customer communication.
  • Think on your feet. Our mechanics make decisions to ensure customer satisfaction, dealing with a range of issues and meeting different people daily.
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of practical experience as a vehicle technician in the motor trade working with various light vehicles
  • A full UK driving license with fewer than 6 penalty points
