Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to service customers at driveways and car parks across Warrington and surrounding areas. You will operate with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit provided, delivering first‑class mobile maintenance and diagnostics on‑site.

Expect a 40-hour week with some weekend work, competitive base pay and potential overtime/bonuses, plus long-term career progression within a trusted national brand.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is required.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

• Servicing, diagnostics, repairs and checks as part of mobile work.
• Manage stock and complete reporting, keeping customers informed during visits.
• Build trust with customers while delivering high-quality on-site vehicle care.

• A competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000
• A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
• 40 hours per week, with core hours from8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton‑le‑Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton‑in‑Makerfield. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

What you’ll need

Either:

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
